Who Do Teenagers Identify As Their Role Models?

In a report conducted in 2011, over 1800 teenagers from the ages of 13-17 were polled on who they identified as a role model, outside from their parents, and only 6% said that their Pastor was their role model. So what does that mean, 94% of teenagers find their examples (role model) in professional athletes, entertainers, movie stars, coaches and teachers.

An alarming trend was also revealed in a seperate article, which in my opinion is directly connected to the teenage role model report, which stated that over 34% of christians have no direct spiritual accountability or relationship with their Pastor. The report indicated that the majority of churches rely on their “small groups” to lead the people in daily living.

I know that my family is greatly impacted by the example our Pastors give us daily. I am appreciative that we are not shepherded by “care pastors” but by OUR shepherd, who is called, appointed, and anointed to be our example and role model.

    1 Corinthians 11:1 (AMP)
PATTERN YOURSELVES after me [follow my example], as I imitate and follow Christ (the Messiah).
