Being Planted and Flourishing

I can’t explain in words how important the local church is to your life and family.  It is true that you can go to church anywhere you want to on Sunday morning, but being planted where God called you is entirely different.  The bible tells us in Psalms 92:13, those that be planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God”.  God has a plan to prosper his children and that plan is connected to the local church. Why? Because unless you have a Pastor teaching you the uncompromised word of God, then you won’t know what belongs to you in Christ, which will affect what you’re reaching for.

The value you place on the local church will always be evident by the way your life looks.  The fact is, you can have a Pastor that feeds you the word but until you make a decision to act on the word nothing will ever change.  I remember in my own life, more than 21 years ago now, how it looked when we first visited Church on the rock in Indiana.  The word that came forward, although challenging and edifying, seemed to be out of reach for me.  You must realize that the devil will try to make you believe that what you’re hearing will never show up in your life and that somehow it’s not obtainable.  Let me bring your attention to John 10:10, The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”

I made a decision that I was not going to be ignorant any longer and I was going to lead my family by the Spirit as best as I knew how.  I would listen and apply what was being taught regardless of what others did.  The truth is that you must come to a place where you want the word of God to be the final authority in your life.  In other words, the word controls the way you make decisions, the way live, raise your children, and conduct your life.  We must get to a place of absolute surrender, not leaning on our own intellect or our way of doing things (Proverbs 3:5).

Today so many people undervalue God’s word and put things of lesser importance above him.  The bible tells us in Matthew 6:33 “seek ye first the Kingdom of God…”!  In every arena of our life God must be first and given the highest priority if we’re going to flourish.  As the head of your family let me ask you, what decision will you make?  Will you decide to rise up and be men of character; honorable, loyal, and committed to God and his word?  As the head of our families we will give an account of the way in which we lead them.  Each of us should ask ourselves if we are following in the ways of the Lord.  Make the decision to keep your family planted firmly in the house of God being active, and growing in the things of the Spirit.  Remember the priorities you set are the priorities your family will follow.  I love you and thank God for each of you men.

Love you,

Dr. Hattabaugh

This is awesome, we can know that the power of God is active in our lives. Tangibility does not determine results in our lives. Praise the Father for His word which is his power in our lives.

This is the kind of teaching we all need. The message of the Kingdom has transformed my life as well as that of my family. By giving God first place in my life and my home and by staying in line with the Kingdom our home has been richly blessed. We no longer think the same, we no longer speak the same and we no longer act the same. Our hunger to know God for who He is has never been greater. Through this teaching God has opened doors to tell others about Jesus and who Jesus really is. I have discovered that most other Christians have not heard what we at COTR have. We are blessed.

“Or we can say it like this; Influence is a power whose operation is only seen by the fruit it displays.” How edifying and uplifting is the revelation God had given our Pastor. And by the lifestyle of obedience will God have the opportunity to bless our lives.

Dr. Hattabaugh, I want to say that I’ve been blessed in so many ways that I can not even count them. But one blessing that I am truly very grateful for is the day I gave my life to Jesus and my journey back to God began. I’m thankful that I have learned so much through the teachings and understanding of the word of God. I still have much to learn and apply to my life of His word but as you know it’s progressive through time. The way that we can remain faithful to God is through the practice of regular, purposeful worship. When we worship the Father faithfully and fervently, we are blessed.

Thank you, Bro. Martin, for your feedback. Like Pastor is teaching us, Eternal life is this…that we KNOW Him (have intimate fellowship with the father). I love that our body is growing and bringing their supply to the body. We all have a place and we appreciate all that you and your family does to support our Pastors and our church.
